GREENSBORO, NC –

As the schedule turns to October, ACC Men’s Soccer features a big weekend of conference action starting Friday, including a clash between the only undefeated teams remaining in the league.

No.14 Louisville heads to No.4 Duke on Friday for a 7pm contest. The teams each sit at the top of their respective divisions with 3-0 records. UofL has a five-game winning streak, which is tied for the third longest in program history, and leads the Atlantic Division while Duke has four straight wins and is first in the Coastal Division.

Five ACC teams are ranked in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll – more than any other league. Duke leads all ACC teams with a No.4 nationwide ranking and is followed by Virginia Tech (11), Louisville (14), Pitt (16) and Clemson (19).

A pair of weekend games will be televised by ACC Network: Virginia-Notre Dame at 6 p.m. Friday and NC State-North Carolina at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Noting ACC men’s football

• The conference’s regular season schedule hits its mid-point this weekend.

• Pitt’s Matt Bailey and Virginia Tech’s Danny Flores were named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, while Duke senior goaltender Eliot Hamill was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.

• Duke has allowed just one goal this season (tied with San Diego State to say the least nationally). Blue Devils goaltender Eliot Hamill is the best in the country in save percentage (0.964) and third in the country in goals against average (0.016).

• Clemson, Louisville and Notre Dame are tied for fourth nationally in offensive scorers (2.89).

• Four CCA teams rank in the top 10 nationwide on goal differential – Clemson (3rd, +20), Duke (5th, +16), Louisville (6th, +15) and Notre Dame (8th, +14).

• Louisville’s Aboubacar Camara and Syracuse’s Deandre Kerr are tied for sixth nationally in goals (7).

• CCA teams are 45-19-5 (.688) in non-conference games, the third highest score of any league nationally.

• Six ACC head coaches rank in the top 35 in NCAA Division I in winning percentage by active head coaches: Carlos Somoano of UNC (6th, .722), George Gelnovatch of Virginia ( 13th, .685), Bobby Muuss of Wake Forest (17th,. 673), Jay Vidovich of Pitt (27th, .639), Mike Noonan of Clemson (28th, .638) and George Kiefer of NC State (34th, .605 ).

• The 2021 ACC Men’s Soccer Championship returns to a 12-team format this season, with the first three rounds at campus venues before the Championship game on November 14 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC
