Seven Cornish towns ranked among UK’s best seaside resorts


Turns out we really love being by the sea, especially in Cornwall.

In total, seven of the county’s seaside resorts have been named in a list of the UK’s best beach towns for families.

Researchers at dayoutwiththekids.co.uk used a variety of factors including number of beaches, average temperature, family friendliness, cost of an ice cream, and number of Instagram hashtags to rank the best resorts in Grande- Brittany – with St Ives, Newquay and Bude among the highest. class.

The list was dominated by Bournemouth, Brighton, Torquay, Weymouth and Blackpool in the top five. St Ives and Newquay finished sixth and seventh, while Paignton, Whitby and Bognor Regis completed the top ten.

Bude was ranked 12th, Padstow 18th, Falmouth 30th, Perranporth 33rd and Polperro 39th, as the full list of 50 was revealed.

In addition to revealing the best beach destinations in the country, the study also revealed the key elements that make up the ideal seaside vacation, with a survey of more than 2,000 people.

Beaches were the most important, with 85% of the nation saying clean sandy beaches are the key to an ideal unforgettable beach holiday in the UK.

Kid-friendly places to grab a bite to eat and excellent fish and chips were both seen as equally important (70%), all of which are synonymous with a Cornish seaside break.

There are plenty of activities to keep us busy by the sea too, with sandcastle building topping the list of best seaside pastimes (78%), followed by fish and chip mockery (75%). ) and collecting shells and stones (73%).

Having an ice cream on the beach (72%), picnicking (65%) and just listening to the sound of the sea (65%) were also on the list of favorite seaside activities in the country.
